Dahye + Jeehye
Dahye and Jeehye get each other better than anyone. For these sisters, it’s kind of the best thing in the world. Get to know the next duo in our holiday series.
Describe your relationship with each other.
(Together): We are first and foremost sisters, but we also cherish each other as best friends that we can rely on for advice, support, and fun. We are three years apart which is a perfect gap to be close yet still be in different phases of our lives. This gives us the opportunity to share perspective and grow together!
Your fave memory together?
(Jeehye): I remember how we used to play for hours when we were kids, building forts out of blankets or going sledding during the winter. We were always active kids, that's for sure.
(Dahye): Yes, I have some memories of that too! We always try to have an annual Sister trip, this year we went to Portugal for a week and just chilled on the beach. I think it's important to make time for each other, as the bond between sisters must be cherished and kindled.
Your first piece of jewelry?
(Jeehye): It is Korean tradition to receive a piece of gold jewelry at a child's 100th day. My first piece was my Grandfather’s wedding ring, which was melted into a gold cross.
(Dahye): Similarly, I received a gold ring for my 100-day celebration. Our mom is keeping it safe for us back at home.
What’s your style?
(Together): We share similar tastes for the most part; effortless and comfortable. But we also love to dabble in the latest trends... the whole "boujee" movement is very fun to experiment with.
What you love about your Mejuri piece?
(Jeehye): I love how it is minimal and can be worn daily, but looks just as great layered with other pieces. This versatility makes it easy to style day to day.
(Dahye): I also love the versatility and dainty chain. I love how the Zodiac sign makes it personalized, a subtle way to show your individuality.
How you feel when giving/receiving jewelry?
(Jeehye): Whenever I give piece of jewelry, I try to capture the essence of someone's spirit in it. Picking the perfect piece requires much thought and care, and I think the receiver appreciates that.
(Dahye): Yes, I'm always so excited to see people's reaction to the jewelry I picked out for them! Whether I'm gifting or receiving, it is always special to be part of this historical tradition of gifting artifacts that lasts through time.
Your relationship with jewelry?
(Together): Jewelry is special in that it can capture a special moment; each piece comes with a story that is completely unique and lasts forever.
